February 2020 Newsletter

For those people who have provided an email address a Newsletter will be sent out prior to the rescheduled Annual meeting Sat. Feb., 29th, 2020. This will save the Association from expensive postage and mailing. Tell a neighbor to sign up for our Newsletter and help us reach everyone. Street Light Maintenance

Please note that all street lights in our community are maintained by the City of Greer (a link to their website can be found in the menu under “ABOUT”). If there is an outage you’ll have to contact them and not our property manager or Board.

Greetings neighbor, from Washington Baptist Church . My name is Joe Price, Associate Pastor of Washington Baptist Church. I am sending this to inform you of a community event that we are hosting. Proposed Solar Panel Amendment: Not Approved

A member of Heather Hills HOA proposed the existing Architectural Standard 6(c) xxviii Energy Conservation Equipment be amended.  In June of 2019 the members of Heather Hills voted by BALLOT to either amend or not to amend the Standard to read:

” Installation of roof mounted solar energy collector panels is permitted only on that section of the roof facing the rear of the house. Installation of ground mounted solar energy panels is permitted only at the rear of any Lot, and must be within a Lot enclosed by an approved privacy fence. All solar panel energy attendant hardware must be installed in the rear Lot. Installation of solar energy collector panels, attendant hardware, and other energy conservation equipment is not permitted in the front or on either side of any Lot.”

Per Heather Hills Declaration, it’s provisions may be amended “upon the affirmative vote or written consent, or any combination thereof, of Owners of at least two-thirds (2/3) of the Lots.” Since the Heather Hills community contains (51) Lots, amending the Declaration would require an affirmative vote or written consent of (34) Owners. Only (14) Owners returned their ballot, of which (11) were in favor of the amendment, one (1) did not make a choice and two (2) were not in favor.

Therefore, the existing Architectural Standard, 6 (c) xxviii Energy Conservation Equipment, will NOT be amended.

It is important to note, that ALL Association Owners of Heather Hills HOA possess (1) vote and may propose changes to the Architectural Standards at any time by following the procedures as stated in the Declaration of Protective Covenants. This is YOUR community and with two-thirds (2/3) of the Owners vote Standards you disagree with may be amended. The Board of Directors encourages your participation and contributions to your community and looks forward to continued service.
